"Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment" (John 7:24) |
By
Patriarch John Williams (Founder/President: IICM OF NY - iicm@aol.com ) *************************************************************************************** |
The Jews did notice Jesus and wanted to confront him, while some said that he was good and others said that he was deceiving many. Still they were all talking behind the back of Jesus. In the meanwhile, Jesus slipped to a temple and started the teaching the Word of God. When the Jews heard his teaching, they marveled at his knowledge and wisdom. Jesus responded by saying, that the doctrine that he preached was not his, but it was that of his Father who sent him. If any man doeth the will of the Father in accordance with the doctrines of God, he will not seek his own glory but will only try to glorify the Father. In such a man there will not be a fault or any unrighteousness. Further he accused the Jews, saying that they did not follow the laws of Moses and went about to kill people. He also pointed out that while they were claiming to abide by the laws given by Moses, they were violating the laws of the Sabbath Day. At this time, some people identified Jesus and said, was he not the one they were seeking to kill. CONCLUSION It is so easy for people to live a routine life even in the realm of religion because they are accustomed to certain religious practices, while they leave out the essential laws of God, which would not only be a testimony to the people around us, but also will help extend the Kingdom of God. There is a difference between the religiosity and the spirituality! - The End- |
