I. THE CONTENTS OF THIS CHAPTER
1. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ
2. Appearance to Jesus to many
3. The Encounter of Mary Magdalene with Jesus Christ
4. The Encounter of the disciples of Jesus Christ with Jesus
5. The Encounter of Thomas with Jesus
II. THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST
The central theme of this Chapter is the resurrection of Jesus Christ and His appearance to many. In spite of the fact that Jesus had told to His disciples on numerous occasions that he had been sent by His Father in Heaven to die for the sins of the world and to overcome death victoriously by overcoming Satan. Further, He made it very clear to His disciples that He would raise from the grave from the third day after his death on the cross. However, as we can see below when Jesus rose from the grave on the third day from His death as he told them, they not only surprised but also found it hard to believe.
SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION
1. The reason why Mary Magdalene and others went to the sepulcher on the third day after the death of Jesus was to sprinkle spices according to their custom in those days. This shows the lack of faith on their part about the resurrection about Jesus Christ
2. When these women reported to the disciples of the Jesus Christ that he had risen from the grave, they did not believe.
3. When Jesus appeared in the midst of the disciples, they were surprised to see Him while in fact, they should have anticipated His appearance and waited for it
4. When Thomas who was not there, when Jesus appeared to other disciples, testified that Jesus came to them, he did not believe and further he stated but unless he would touch Him and feel Him personally, he will not believe that He rose from the grave.
In conclusion, I would like to say that the real problem of Christians today is not in reading the Word of God, attending the Church, Pray or even doing some Ministry but to believe and act upon every Word of God in the Bible.
