Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, "It
is finished" and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. (John 19:30) |

Introduction
This is a very important chapter about the death of Jesus Christ. Even though it is mentioned as Pilate, delivered him to be crucified, we should note that Jesus came into this World to give himself as a sacrifice for the redemption of Mankind. But at the same time, in this Chapter, we can read about various things that happen immediately prior to his death, and when he was hanging on the cross, before he died.
Some important details concerning the events that took place prior to the crucifixion of Jesus and what happened when he was hanging on the cross:
Pilate took Jesus, and scourged him.
The soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe
They said, Hail, King of the Jews! and then smote him with their hands.
Pilate then said that he found no fault in Jesus
Then the soldiers made a crown of thorns and put it on his head and also put on a purple robe.
The chief priests and the officers cried out saying, "Crucify him, crucify him".
Jesus said, to Pilate that he could not have any power unless it is given to him from above.
They crucified Jesus on a cross in the middle of two thieves
After the soldiers crucified Jesus, cast a lot and divided his garments, amaze themselves.
There stood by the cross of Jesus, his mother, his mother's sister, and Mary Magdalene.
While Jesus was hanging on the cross, He said "I thirst".
Then He said "It is finished" and gave up His ghost.
Then they took the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews and buried Him.
Conclusion
Even though, the crucifixion and the death of Jesus Christ is a very sad story to hear, we should note that God Sent his son Jesus into this World to die on the Cross as it happened and shed his blood for the remission of the sins of the World. So far the Jesus Christ is concerned, even though he went through excruciating pain and had a gruesome death, it marks the end of His great mission, which he completed by submitting himself to the Will of God. It was God's plan to redeem man from the curse of sin by the shedding of the precious, pure and sinless blood of Jesus Christ. Therefore we should note the salvation is available to everyone who repents for the sin, confess it to the Father in Heaven will be saved and have eternal life!
