THE SIGNIFICANCE AND VALUE OF PROPHECY 
"But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort "
II Corinthians 14:3

I. WHAT IS A PROPHECY?

1. Prophecy is a Word from God given through a Prophet
2. Prophecy is about something that is Going to Happen
3. Prophecy could be a Forewarning or an Advance Information from God to Prepare or Correct Ourselves
4. Prophecy is a Word which will not be in Contravention with the Word of God
5. Prophecy is a Word from God spoken through a Man or a Woman to a Specific Individual, A Group of People, about a Specific Thing or in a Specific Situation
6. Prophecies are the Words given by God through Holy Men and Women, Anointed by the Holy Spirit
7. Prophecy will be a Sure Word from God
8. Prophecy is one of the nine Spiritual Gifts of the Holy Spirit, which one is encouraged to Covet

II. WHY PROPHECIES ARE GIVEN?
1. Prophecies are given for Exhortation
2. Prophecies are given for Edification
3. Prophecies are given for Comfort
4. Prophecies are given to Fore-warn
5. Prophecies are given to Fore-tell
6. Prophecies are given to Remind or Reconfirm something that has been said in the Bible
7. Prophecies are better to be Uttered in a Known Language rather than speaking in tongues, with no Interpretation
8. Prophecies speak Divine Mysteries

III. HOW PROPHECIES SHOULD BE GIVEN?
1. Through the Word of God
2. Through a Prophet or a Prophetess, a Man or a Woman of God
3. Through Tongues in a Heavenly Language, which will be Interpreted by the same person or someone else 
4. Through the Language which people understand, with any Interpretation

IV. WHY ARE THERE SOME PROBLEMS WITH PROPHECIES?
1. Because sometimes some may Prophecy in their own Flesh, Knowingly or Ignorantly
2. Because sometimes some may Prophecy with the Intension to Gain Popularity
3. Because sometimes some may Prophecy contrary to what the Scripture says
4. Because sometimes some may Prophecy on their Own, some thing to Entice People
5. Because sometimes some may Prophecy something False and Deceitful, which is not from God
6. Because sometimes some may Prophecy something that is Wrong, Deliberately, Being False Prophets
7. Because sometimes some may Prophecy to Attract More People to their Ministry
8. Because sometimes some may Prophecy to Prove or Demonstrate that they have the Prophetic Gifts, when they really Do Not
9. Because sometimes some may Prophecy may Deliberately Lie for filthy lucre
10. Because sometimes some may Prophecy something which has no significance or value to anyone
11. Because some despise Prophecy, The Bible says, Not to Despise Prophecy which is Genuine

V. WHO WILL OR CAN PROPHECY?
1. Only the Prophets sent by a God
2. Only those who have the Gifts of Prophecy
3. Only in the Last Days our Sons and Daughters shall Prophecy
4. Only we have to Encourage and Raise Prophets and not Discourage Prophecy or Prophets

VI. WHAT IS NOT A PROPHECY?
1. Prophecy is not something that will happen, just because someone has said it
2. Prophecy is not Fortune Telling
3. Prophecy is not Something that one seeks to know or find out in advance
4. Prophecy is not just Soothing and Enticing Words, said to please people to make them feel good and at the same time, to gain popularity and get some offering
5. Prophecy is not foretelling everything that is going to happen
6. Prophecy is not for knowing everything that is going to happen in our Life, in advance
7. A Lying Spirit is not a Prophecy
8. The False Prophets are not Real Prophets

VII. CONCLUSION
1. A Prophet will not be honored in his own Place 
2. When we Receive or Entertain a Prophet, we will get the Prophet's Reward
3. The House-hold of God is built upon the Foundation of the Apostles and Prophets
4. One of the Five-fold Ministries is the Prophetic Ministry
5. The Bible says that in the last days there shall be many False Christ's, Earth Quakes in Diverse Places, Wars and Rumors of Wars, Pestilence etc, and particularly the Preachers mention all of these End Time Signs when they preach except False Prophets! Why !!!!
6. If we are really living in the End Times, it is needless to mention that there should be many False Prophets all over the World, but the question is 'who' are they?
7. With the Revelation Knowledge that you get from this Daily Meditation on 'Prophecy', you should be able to get the full benefit of the Prophets and the Prophecies, and at the same time, escape from the subtle traps of False Prophets and False Prophecies!
